Chief Scott MacDonald
was elected the Twenty-Eighth Chief of the Vigilant
Fire Company on December 3rd, 2007. Chief MacDonald
is a sixteen year member of the Company. He was
elected Sergeant-At-Arms in 1993. He served as a
Lieutenant from 1996-1999 and a Captain from
1999-2001. He was elected 2nd Assistant
Chief in 2001 and First Assistant Chief in 2004.
Chief MacDonald is
the Vigilant’s resident expert in vehicle
extrication having taken many classes on the
subject. He is a two time recipient of the Green
Cross given by Hurst
for using the Jaws of Life to save a life.
Chief MacDonald was previously the Chief of training
and has been influential in implementing the Vigilant’s constant drill schedule. He currently
serves on many committees and certifies all members
on all of our apparatus.
Chief MacDonald was
born and raised in Great Neck, having graduated
from
Great
Neck
North
High School.
